Alone , subtitled The 8th Album , is the eighth studio album by the German Europop duo Modern Talking . It was released on February 22, 1999 by Hansa Records and BMG Music Publishing and, according to the awards, sold more than a million copies. It reached number one in the charts and platinum status in Germany , also platinum in Switzerland and gold status in Austria .
Emergence
As usual , the album was produced by Dieter Bohlen , who also composed almost all of the 17 songs on the album. Thomas Anders wrote two songs, and the two wrote two more together. Luis Rodriguez was co-producer as on the previous albums. Ronald Reinsberg designed the cover again . The Space Mix '98 featured rapper Eric Singleton . The keyboards were played by Amadeus Crotti, Jerry Ropero, Lalo Titenkov and Thorsten Brötzmann.

The cover photo shows Bohlen and Anders smiling back to back against a dark background. It comes from the photographer Gabo (Gabriele Oestreich-Trivellini). More photos in the booklet are from Manfred Esser.
reception
The album reached number one in Germany and Hungary, number two in Austria and number three in Switzerland. In Scandinavia, too, it reached high chart positions with fifth place in Sweden , fourth place in Finland and ninth place in Norway . In France , it reached number eleven.
