DaBaby (born December 22, 1991 in Cleveland , Ohio ; real name Jonathan Lyndale Kirk ) is an American rapper .

life and career

Kirk was born on December 22, 1991 in Cleveland. In 1999 he moved with his family to Charlotte , North Carolina , where he spent most of his years to come. He attended Vance High School and graduated successfully in 2010.

In 2015 the rapper published his first mixtape Nonfiction , at that time still under the pseudonym Baby Jesus . Various mixtape series followed in the following years, including God's Work , Baby Talk , Billion Dollar Baby and Back on My Baby Jesus Sh * t . In January 2019, he signed a recording deal with Interscope and South Coast Music Group. In February 2019 he announced the Baby on Baby Tour , which took place from April to May 2019. His debut album Baby on Baby was released on March 1st, 2019 and included collaborations with artists such as Offset and Rich the Kid . The project immediately reached number 25 on the Billboard 200 . The first single Suge reached the Billboard Hot 100 in April 2019 and rose to number seven on the charts in July 2019. 2019 Kirk participants was the annual freshman List of XXL magazine . His second studio album, Kirk , was released on September 27, 2019 and went to number one on the Billboard 200 the following week .

Kirk has two children. His father died in March 2019, which he also processed in his album Kirk , among other things .
