In My Rosary is a music project that was founded in Karlsruhe at the end of 1991 by the singer and instrumentalist Ralf Jesek and the songwriter and photographer Dirk Lakomy . In 2011 the project was dissolved. Jesek then founded the follow-up project IMR . Dirk Lakomy continues to devote himself to his music project Lakobeil together with Tobias Birkenbeil.

background

Originally planned as a one-off collaboration, In My Rosary was able to attract worldwide attention with their 1993 debut "Those Silent Years" and have since become an integral part of the international alternative and dark wave scene. Musically influenced by the melancholy New Wave of the 1980s, the project was initially often labeled Neofolk due to the use of acoustic guitars , which is still occasionally irritating to followers of this music genre. In My Rosary you can't musically reduce to a certain genre term, but consciously use a variety of Dark Wave styles to create your very own sound. The spectrum ranges from Darkfolk to Cold Wave and Electro Pop elements.

Initially intended as a pure studio project, In My Rosary appeared live for the first time in 1997. Supported by Martin von Arndt , Ralf Jesek performed a 40-minute gig in Utrecht ( Netherlands ) and has since been touring Europe with several guest musicians.

After 19 years, the collaboration between Ralf Jesek and Dirk Lakomy had reached its creative limit and was therefore ended.
