ZDF hit parade / episode list
The hit parade was broadcast for the first time on ZDF on January 18, 1969 at 6:50 p.m. and, after eight issues in 1969, it was presented twelve times a year on Saturday evenings from 1970 onwards. The hit parade started with 14 candidates. 5 winners were selected by the audience (initially by postcard), who then reappeared in the following broadcast from 5th place onwards, as well as 9 new presentations (from March 20, 1971 only 8 new presentations).
While issue 1 of the show from January 18, 1969 has now appeared on DVD, episodes 2 to 25 from 1969 to 1971 were destroyed decades ago by the use of inadequate tape material at the time. An exception are episodes 4 to 15 from 1969 and 1970, which were largely reconstructed as audio versions from various private sound recordings.
Since many of the titles listed for these editions were forgotten, the presenter Dirk Demkes designed the so-called radio versions for the German internet radio memoryRADIO and started them on the 40th birthday of the program in January 2009. So all of them ran again until the end of 2011 very rare original recordings of new releases and titles placed in the first three years, including the missing issues, every 40 years after the TV broadcast on ZDF. On the website for the program (see under web links) there is also a gallery with the single covers of the titles from the respective program.
In the current reruns, Peter Alexander's appearances have been cut out for legal reasons.
Meaning of the colors:
• pink field = title only mentioned / briefly played
• green field = sung live

Special programs
The super hit parades presented hits from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s under the motto “A Heart for Children” from the Philipshalle in Düsseldorf , the Rhein-Main-Halle in Wiesbaden , the Freiheitshalle in Hof and from the Ostseehalle in Kiel . The hit selection was made by voting by postcard from listeners to Radio Luxemburg and readers of the Bildzeitung, who had previously put songs by the performers to choose from. In the third broadcast, the song raspberry ice cream for breakfast by Hoffmann & Hoffmann was replaced by Mike Krüger's Der Nippel due to the separation of the duo .
The superhit parades with the hits from '83, '84 and '85 were also under the motto “A heart for children”. The performers of the super hit parades - hits of the year '83 from the Saarlandhalle in Saarbrücken , '84 from the Frankenhalle in Nuremberg and '85 from the Dortmund Westfalenhalle were determined by Media Control from the radio and television appearances as well as from the sales figures of the record stores. In addition, the songs had to have been sung in the hit parade beforehand. The performances took place in alphabetical order (exception: Howard Carpendale , who was switched on from his concert from Hamburg ).
The moderator of the super hit parades was Dieter Thomas Heck, with the exception of the hits of the year '85, which was moderated by Viktor Worms. Representative viewers selected by an opinion research institute determined a winner via TED after each group round and the overall winner from the group winners at the end of the program, also via TED. However, it was not possible for a song with a higher percentage weighting (compared to another group) to participate in the final round.
In the super hit parade - Hits of the Year '83 - the 20 appearances of five songs are divided into four groups. The most successful hits of '84 were presented in two half-year groups of eight songs each. The most successful hits of '85 were presented in two half-year groups of seven songs each. The TED failed in the first run, so Mr. Denninger announced the winner in the studio.
