GG Anderson
GG Anderson (born December 4, 1949 in Eschwege ; actually Gerd Grabowski ) is a German composer , music producer and pop singer .
Life
GG Anderson completed an apprenticeship as an electrician after graduating from secondary school . He also worked as a singer and drummer from the start . His musical career began in 1964 as a member of the band "The Rackets", in 1968 he sang with the Blue Moons at the Burg-Herzberg Festival , and from 1970 to 1972 in the band "Love and Tears" (the accompanying band of Michael Holm ). In 1973 he started as a solo artist under the stage name "Alexander Marco", from 1977 to 1979 as "Tony Bell" and since 1980 under the name "GG Anderson".
As a composer, Anderson created over 1000 titles, worked for artists such as Mireille Mathieu , Rex Gildo , Andrea Jürgens , Axel Becker , Andy Borg , Judith and Mel , Brunner & Brunner , Die Paldauer , Tony Christie , Wildecker Herzbuben , Thomas Anders , Goombay Dance band , Roland Kaiser . He composed the successful title The Spanish Night is Over for Engelbert . Roland Kaiser sang with Checkmate , Love me one last time and Fly with me to the stars, a series of successful songs written by Anderson. The Heino title Yes, yes, Katja has yes or Satisfaction for Laura Branigan comes from him.
Success as a singer did not emerge until 1981. His best-known titles are African Baby , Mama Lorraine , On the white beach of San Angelo , No means yes, summer night in Rome , summer, sun, convertible , Rosalie , girl, girl, If Tyrol were at the North Pole and I give you white roses .
In 1988 he was fourth in the German preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest with Would you have time for me today? . The folk music duo Wildecker Herzbuben emerged from his accompanying band , for which Anderson also composed hits.
Anderson has been an honorary citizen of the city of Eschwege since July 1997 ; in 1986 he received the award "Singer of the Year" and in September 1991 the golden tuning fork .
In 1998/1999 the singer switched the record company from BMG / Hansa Records to Koch Music. Since then, a new album has been released every year. The release of the album Alle Liebe der Welt , originally planned for September 2008 , has been postponed to February 2009 for unknown reasons. With Die Sterne von Rom he reached his 15th position in the German album charts in 2014. With 23rd place it had the best placement of its first chart album What I want to tell you from 1985.
Anderson has worked for years with composers like Engelbert Simons or Ekki Stein , who are involved in many compositions.
GG Anderson is married for the second time and has a son from each marriage.
