Andy Borg (born November 2, 1960 in Vienna - Floridsdorf ; actually Adolf Andreas Meyer ) is an Austrian pop singer and television presenter living in Germany .

Life

Andy Borg completed an apprenticeship as a car mechanic after graduating from secondary school and attended vocational school in Amstetten in Lower Austria . On the occasion of a show for new talents on the ORF ( Die Große Chance ) he was discovered by Kurt Feltz for the hit business and initially sang in the popular scene .

The breakthrough in the hit business came in 1982 with the hit Adios Amor . Other hits followed such as Arrivederci, Claire , The famous three words and I don't want to know your name . In 1990 he took part in the Grand Prix of Folk Music with child star Alexandra . Her song Komm setz 'di auf an Sonnenstrahl reached 3rd place behind the Kastelruther Spatzen and the Alpentrio Tirol .

From 1996 he presented the popular music parade on Südwest-Fernsehen, later on Erste . From September 2006 Andy Borg moderated the Musikantenstadl as the successor to Karl Moik . In February 2015, ARD , ORF and SRF announced that Borg will host the show for the last time on June 27, 2015. The concept of the show has been revised. Since December 2018, Borg has been moderating the music show Schlager-Fun with Andy Borg at SWR .

Andy Borg lives in Thyrnau near Passau in second marriage. He has two children from his first marriage.
