Panacea is the best-known artist name of the German drum and bass producer and DJ Mathis Mootz (born August 18, 1976 in Wetzlar ). Mootz also published under the pseudonyms Bad Street Boy , Kate Mosh , , Radar , Rich Kid and Warfare .

After classical music training, years of membership in the Windsbach boys' choir as the first soprano, and training at the Audio Engineering School, he has been working as a freelance producer and DJ since 1997. Already with his first LP " Low Profile Darkness " Panacea caused a sensation in the drum and bass scene due to the radical sound.

He is regarded as the most important artist of the Frankfurt Mille-Plateaux - sublabel Position Chrome , which was one of the more influential in this area in Germany and as an important representative of a new form of drum and bass that absorbed influences from hardcore techno , industrial and noise . Mathis Mootz also works with Limewax under the name Goldberg Variations.
