Fire protection plan
A fire protection plan is a floor plan of buildings (complexes), which shows all relevant fire protection facilities and escape routes .
General
The fire brigade plan helps the emergency services to quickly find their way around the building. It provides information about attack routes, extinguishing equipment and main hazards as well as accumulations of flammable materials.
Escape and rescue plans help visitors and employees in a building to leave the building in the fastest and safest way in the event of fire or danger. In addition, this plan contains brief but important information on what to do in the event of fire or danger. So-called evacuation plans can also be drawn up in cooperation with the authorities. These contain precise instructions for emergency services and persons entrusted with fire protection what to do in the event of fire or danger.
The more pronounced the helplessness of the people in the building, the greater the danger for them. Helplessness can be caused by immobility and / or disorientation, among other things. This results in the fact that escape and rescue plans must be available and up to date, especially in public buildings, at places for mass events, in hotels, hospitals, etc.
terminology
In Germany, the term “fire brigade plan” is often used as a synonym. The term “fire brigade plan” is also anchored in building law (e.g. sales outlet ordinance) and can therefore be used more legally as a fire protection plan. The "fire brigade plan" differs fundamentally from "escape and rescue plans". The latter are primarily created for the users of structural systems, while fire brigade plans are created for emergency services and contain further information about danger points (e.g. the location of gas tanks or hazardous material storage facilities). Both terms are clearly defined by DIN standards. From "Fire brigade plan" is when in addition to a graphic representation (Fire Plan) Text information is given.
In Germany, the term fire protection plan was coined by the Association of Damage Insurers (VdS).
In Austria, the fire protection plan and its legal background is described in TRVB O121.
Formal requirements for the presentation
German fire protection plans usually have the format DIN A 3 or DIN A 4. If, due to the size of the area shown, a simple representation on such paper is not possible, the scope of the plan must be expanded to include several sheets; In addition , an overview plan must be created as part of the fire service plan. Detailed specifications for the representation are often specified in the technical connection conditions for fire alarm systems according to DIN 14675 .
