Valerie's Garten was a German trio of women who, in 1992, had a hit single with the title Next Time at the End of the World, composed by Achim Oppermann . The trio, which due to its musical style was often understood as the German counterpart to Wilson Phillips , also had various appearances on television such as the ZDF hit parade . After a few more singles , the hit trio broke up due to a lack of (commercial) success.

Career

Lead singer Michaela Ahlrichs, who won the Federal Rock Prize with her band Karrens Key in the 1980s , began a solo career under her shortened name “Ela” after the dissolution of Valerie's Garten. As "Michaela" she took part in the German preliminary decision for the 1997 Eurovision Song Contest . Her colleagues Doris Gellhaus and Stefanie Lügger published English-language pop songs under the name The Geenies . Meanwhile Stefanie Lügger works on several other projects with Ralf Bieler under the name Lillid together and produces German-language songs.
