Bernd Apitz (born September 18, 1947 in Dresden ) is a German singer.
Career
After graduating from secondary school, he completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk. Already in his youth he received singing lessons and took part in several youth competitions. In 1961 he came to the Federal Republic. In 1966 he won a nationwide talent competition and founded two beat bands with whom he also performed abroad. He also worked as a disc jockey and was voted "the most popular disc jockey on the Baltic coast" by journalists.
He applied to record companies with demo tapes and finally got a contract with Teldec . In 1966, the debut single Oh Gigi appeared , a cover version of the hit Sweet Pea by Tommy Roe . This was followed by three appearances in the ZDF hit parade . We made joint recordings with Gaby Berger . Two of his titles made it into the German charts. He later founded his own record label Avance Records in Salzgitter .
