Tommy Roe
Tommy Roe (born May 9, 1942 in Atlanta , Georgia ) is an American singer , guitarist and songwriter .
Life
Roe founded the group Satins in 1958 , which recorded the title Sheila in 1960 . Roe had already written this song at the age of 14. This recording went unnoticed. From 1962 he worked as a soloist and took up the title again. This time the single reached number 1 in the US charts and the title also made it into the top 10 in Great Britain and Germany . After 1963, Roe had to complete his military service.
Roe had his second number one hit in the USA in 1969 with the title "Dizzy" , which stayed at the top for four weeks. His most successful album was "12 In A Roe / A Collection Of Tommy Roe's Greatest Hits" (1969).
Like many of his US colleagues who were successful in the 1960s, to Roe turned as after his success time Popinterpret of country music to. His biggest hit there was Let's Be Fools Like That Again , which was released in late 1986 and placed in the top 40 of the country charts for two weeks in February 1987. It was his only country hit.
In 1991 his most famous hit, Dizzy, was back at the top of the UK charts in a version of Vic Reeves and The Wonder Stuff .
