Fabius (singer)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Fabrizio Barile (born March 9, 1966 in Hamburg-Eppendorf ) is an Italian singer , actor and musical performer . Until 2007 he sang under the name Gino D'oro , then changed his name to Fabius . The reason for this was the change in his image, as he is no longer active as a pop singer.

Life

Barile comes from a family of artists. With his parents (father Vincenzo Barile (1921–2004), Italian, and mother Margarethe Barile (1937–2014), singer, Hungarian) he lived in Hamburg-Eppendorf , where he grew up with his brother. His father, a trumpeter in a large orchestra, taught Barile to play the guitar at the age of seven. He founded his first school band "The Little Teddys" in 1978. In the years up to 1981 he did his voluntary internship in various Hamburg recording studios, where he made his first experiences in producing music. In the following years he worked as a choir singer and got to know the producer Otto Demler , who made his first German-language music recordings with him. However, these were never published.

In 1985 the title Violinista by Dirk Busch , whom Barile sang in a duet with Anita Pliszczynski, was published by the music publisher Antenna Musik. Other titles were produced with the same production company, including Engel der Nacht, which was submitted in 1986 for the Grand Prix Eurovision de la Chanson . His first German-language single as Fabrizio Di Matteo was Verlieb Dich , released in 1987 . Various publications followed with his singing partners Peter Sebastian and Gaby Baginsky as well as the collaboration with Peggy March .

As a composer he wrote songs for Claudia Jung , Ireen Sheer , Dunja Rajter and other pop singers. He took over the musical dramaturgy and choir direction for various Hamburg musicals .

Later Barile worked as an actor mainly in musicals and played in the Ohnsorg Theater . At the same time as the name change to Fabius, he changed his music style to Low German pop music. In February 2008 his first publication appeared under the new name "De Dag (was still goot)".

Meanwhile he works mainly as a producer for music productions and show programs.
