John F. and the Gropiuslerchen was the German music project of the producer Jens Tröndle and the musicians and authors team Rainer Konstantin, U. W. A. Heyder (Uwe Heyder) and Conny Göckel (Konrad Göckel).

At the 750th anniversary of Berlin in 1987, the title Berlin, Berlin (… your heart knows no walls) was published under the name John F. und die Gropius lerchen . The dance track, which was traded as an insider tip, featured original tones from John F. Kennedy , Willy Brandt , Walter Ulbricht and Ernst Reuter , was often played by Berlin radio stations, especially the RIAS , but was not ranked in the charts anywhere in Germany .

After the fall of the Berlin Wall , Berlin, Berlin (The Wall is gone) was created , a version of the song adapted to the time with original sounds by Hans-Dietrich Genscher , Walter Momper and East Berlin demonstrators. In December 1989 it made the jump into the German charts , where the title lasted 9 weeks and reached number 29.

Also in 1989 came 2-4-6-8! (Who Do We Appreciate) hit the stores with samples from Humphrey Bogart , Louis Armstrong and Marilyn Monroe . This production, like the 1995 single Wir sind die Kid’s , missed a hit parade listing .
