Ramona Wulf (also known as: Ramona ), real name: Ramona Kraft ; (Born October 18, 1954 in Hanau ) is a German hit , disco and pop singer .

Life

Ramona is the daughter of an Afro-American US soldier and a German. She grew up with foster parents who recognized her talent and made her private singing lessons possible. Ramona went to the Hanau class, in which a grenade launcher cartridge exploded in 1964 . A boy had brought the explosive device with him and dropped it. 30 children were injured, some seriously, in the explosion. Ramona got two splinters in her knee that could be removed. In 1969 she was discovered in a talent competition in Frankfurt am Main and recorded her first single .

She had her greatest success as a solo singer in 1971 with the title Alles was wir woll'n auf Erden , which made it to number eight in the German single charts . Between 1970 and 1973 she was a frequent guest on the ZDF hit parade . With everything we want on earth she was the second woman after Manuela to win. During this time, she was also able to occupy several top places in the youth magazine Bravo's Otto vote for the most popular singer (1971: 5th place, 1972: 6th place, 1973: 9th place) and appeared in the film comedy Tante with her most successful song Trude from Buxtehude . After one last success with Heaven knows alone in 1973, her career suddenly broke off. None of the five singles she released until 1975 became a success. With a German version of Sugar Candy Kisses , however, an image change from a pop-singing teenager to an attractive young woman began.

With the single Käm but once a sailor , Ramona was able to place in many radio hit parades in 1974.

From 1975 she belonged to Penny McLean and Linda G. Thompson to the group Silver Convention , which could achieve great international success with titles such as Fly Robin Fly and Get Up and Boogie . The band was only the second German act after Bert Kaempfert to reach first places in the American charts . There were some changes in the line-up until the group was dissolved in 1979, with Ramona being the only permanent member. In 1977 Silver Convention with the English-language title Telegram for the Federal Republic of Germany took part in the Eurovision Song Contest and reached place 8.

In the following years she tried it again solo and recorded a few more singles and albums, but they brought hardly any successes. Only Flashdance - Tanz im Feuer , a cover version of the Irene Cara hit Flashdance ... What a Feeling , attracted attention and rose to number 35 in the German airplay charts in October 1983 .

Today Ramona Wulf lives with her husband and three children in Berlin , is involved in her local Catholic parish and only rarely appears at galas or in talk shows on television. In 2010 she successfully completed her training as a naturopath.
