Oliver Frank (born September 1, 1963 in Göttingen ) is a German pop singer .
Live and act
In 1985 a talent scout discovered him and he produced his first single Farewell to Fernando in the Star Studio in Hamburg . On the instruments were Dicky Tarrach (drums), Nils Tuxen (bass) and Thissy Thiers (guitar) from the former band The Rattles . Further singles (In the port of Piraeus, Palermo by night) and the first album Santa Barbara followed.
In 1991 Frank switched to Hansa Records (now: Sony BMG ), in 1992 to DA Music and in 1999 to ZYX Music . In the meantime he has been recording more classic Discofox titles like Liza Maria and Saturday Night; Ciao, Bella Italia or Far, Far from here. With the hit Italienische Sehnsucht from 1996 he appeared for the first time in October of the same year in the legendary ZDF hit parade . After other successful titles such as Until the End of the World or I'm Again Free , in 2005 he was one of the very few Discofox artists with nothing but the truth (La verità) to jump into the top 100 single charts of Media Control . In addition, Oliver Frank was named Artist of the Year 2005 by the artist magazine in the “Party hit” category. As an author, Oliver Frank is increasingly working under the pseudonym "Frank Revilo".
In addition to various texts for colleagues, he wrote, among other things, the radio hit parade title Hallo, Madeleine, various titles from his album Despicable, and as a composer and lyricist alike the titles Amore per semper - Jetzt oder nie (2008), Unser Sommer der Liebe (2009) and Scommetto su di noi (I bet on you and me) (2010). In spring 2011, Wir war'n mehr für Oliver Frank started working with the author and producer David Brandes . Under his direction, the singles Kreuzverhör (2011) and I loved you (2012) followed. With the maxi CD Alles nur Façade , available in three mixes , Oliver Frank also reported back as an author in 2013 and sent this song plus video clip into the running as a harbinger for his next studio album. This was followed in 2014 by the airplay chart successes Letters from Sarah and Sommer in San Marino and in 2015 Drama Queen and the title Die Frau für's Leben, produced together with Cora (Amsterdam) , for the start of his double album and the anniversary edition Saitenblicke.
In 2016, two more single releases followed from this album with heart found and That will never happen to me again .
After the radio and DJ successes "I can wait", "A Domani (see you tomorrow, my life!)" Or "A madness like you", the single "Was geht hier." Was released as the last harbinger for his new album in 2019 from?".
His album "Heart or nothing" will be released on September 6, 2019, in parallel with an accompanying center promotion tour.
