Donato Plögert (born July 12, 1967 in Berlin ) is a German singer , lyricist , presenter , actor and author .
Life
With his programs held in Berlin dialect, Plögert mainly appears on Germany's cabaret stages. a. in the cabaret Die Kneifzange , Opernpalais unter den Linden, Clärchens Ballhaus , Bar every Vernunft , Berlin cabaret Klimperkasten (to whose permanent ensemble he belonged for two years), Die Kleine Philharmonie, Chekhov Theater and Berliner Brettl. In January 2014, the Berlin-Revue Berlin ist, if you laugh anyway, premiered at the Berlin cabaret Klimperkasten , for which Plögert wrote the title song and was on stage in the piece for 2 years.
Plögert appeared in television programs, such as in 1999 in the ZDF hit parade , Wunschbox, Alles Gute, Heimatklänge and the Grand Prix of Folk Music . Until the dissolution in 2003, Plögert was the singer of the Berlin police orchestra and presented with him at concerts self-written Berlin chansons and musicians.
He twice took part in the Swiss finals for the Eurovision Song Contest (1993 as a lyricist, 2011 as an interpreter) and received first prizes at festivals in Yugoslavia , Malta , Bulgaria , Macedonia and the Czech Republic for his self-written songs and their presentation .
He wrote several books, most recently in 2012 Pralles Leben with short stories on the subject of "Everyday difficulties of all kinds".
Plögert also writes songs for fellow artists such as Romy Haag , Marie-Luise Nikuta , Olaf Henning , Peter Wieland, Stephan Runge , Hansi Süssenbach and various cabaret colleagues.
In February 2014 Plögert recorded the duet Knuddel together with Marie-Luise Nikuta . The song, written by Plögert and composed by Christian Bruhn, accompanies the nationwide campaign "Knuddel once again", which advocates more togetherness and more humanity in everyday life.
In the fall of 2014, the benefit double CD single followed, Love can't be banned / what's normal . With these two songs written by Bruhn / Plögert, homophobia should be counteracted. For this purpose, Plögert interpreted a song in Russian for the first time by publishing the song in German, English and Russian.
For Christopher Street Day 2015, Plögert wrote the hymn composed by Christian Bruhn It only takes courage , which he presented live in front of the Brandenburg Gate together with Berlin's Senator for Culture Klaus Lederer and Estelle van der Rhone.
In 2015 Plögert presented his new CD-EP Skyscraper in Berlin . Among other things, it contains the song You are looking for the morning , which he recorded as a member of the group Five 4 Refugees . In this song, Plögert takes on the refugee problem in Germany. Behind the band are the politicians Thomas Birk (Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen), Fabio Reinhardt (Pirate Party), Hakan Taş (Die Linke) and the entrepreneur Daniel Phillipp Worat, whom Plögert was able to win as vocal supporters for this recording.
As the lyricist of the CD Songs are Friends , Plögert was part of a project of the association “Dementia Support Stuttgart”. He let demented people from Germany, Austria and Switzerland tell their lives. From these stories 14 songs were composed by Christian Bruhn, which were sung by various interpreters (including Plögert himself).
On the occasion of its 25th stage anniversary, the download album "A song can be a bridge - from the Grand Prix d'Eurovision to the Eurovision Song Contest" was released in November 2019. With this album he was able to place himself for the first time at number 54 among the TOP 100 of the "amazon" hit charts.
In spring 2019, Donato Plögert played for two months in the role of the crazy performance artist Jan Fechner as the opponent of the two main actors "Schmidti" (Alexander Freund) and "Krätze" (Marcel Maurice Neue) in the TV series "Berlin Day & Night "to see on RTL2. This was followed by small roles in series such as "Rampensau" (VOX), "Nachtschwestern" (RTL) and in ZDF crime series such as "Bulle & Bulle" and "Schwartz & Schwartz". In the meantime he also played under the direction of famous directors such as Detlev Buck ("Bibi und Tina"), Marc Rothemund ("It's for your best") and Till Endemann ("Piskopat").
