founding

It was founded in September 1971 in the theater of the DGB house on Wittenbergplatz by Jerry Roschak, who designed a monthly stage show there for the "Club of the Elderly" and invited artists from various disciplines to do so , together with a few colleagues. His proposal to make the events public and to create a permanent team of "independent actors and singers to design a literary-musical cabaret program" met with great approval and was soon implemented.

At the end of 1971 , the "Domizil am Lützowplatz ", where Wolfgang Neuss had performed up until then , became the new venue, and after a detour to the "University Brewery " , the Klimperkasten moved to the Charlottenburg Town Hall , where after a few years it became the "Bürgersaal" again in the "Ratskeller" you can see.

The first touring tours took place as early as 1974 , and the first long-playing record with texts and chansons was made. There were early concerts in the "Rixdorfer Biergarten ", regular events in the former Lankwitz animal shelter , in the Urania , in the Reinickendorfer "Ernst-Reuter-Saal" , in the community center in Gropiusstadt , in the Bürgersaal Zehlendorf , in the Deutschlandhaus, in the Hotel Seehof and also an abundance of businesses -, senior and street parties, birthdays and anniversaries .

Many members of the ensemble (around 140 over the course of 32 years) have taken on tasks at other stages, in radio , television or in dubbing, e.g. B.

The ZDF turned on Klimperkasten-co-founders Ada Hecht and Leni Schulz the film "Because they need the applause" . RIAS Berlin broadcast all four parts of the program.

Awards

In 1992, Jerry Roschak received the Federal Cross of Merit , among other things, for promoting young cabarets .
