Hakan Taş (born September 15, 1966 in Kemah , Turkey ) is a Turkish- German politician ( Die Linke ) and author .

Life

Hakan Taş was born in Turkey and is of Kurdish - Alevi descent. He has lived in Berlin since 1980 . Here he completed his training as a businessman from 1983 and was also active as a youth representative, works council and trade union committee. He later worked as a journalist and freelance writer. Politically, he is involved in the party Die Linke and there in particular for the rights of immigrants . In the election on September 18, 2011 , he succeeded in entering the Berlin House of Representatives . There Taş became the security, integration and participation policy spokesman for his parliamentary group and chairman of the Committee on Labor, Integration and Social Affairs. Taş is openly committed to his homosexuality.

When the Berlin Imam Abu Bilal Ismail, in his Friday sermon on July 18, 2014, described Gaza as the “land of jihad ” and the Jews as “ butcher of prophets ” and started a prayer for their worldwide annihilation, Taş filed a complaint against him for incitement to the masses at the same time all members of the federal and state parliament of Turkish origin to join the report. Taş is seen as the enemy of German and Turkish right-wing extremists and was therefore temporarily under police protection. In June 2013 runes and death threats were affixed to his apartment, and in December 2017 he was hit in the face by a Turkish right-wing extremist. On December 15, 2018, the Berlin police initiated an investigation into drunkenness in traffic and escaping from an accident against Taş, because he was drunk and struck a lantern with his car and then drove on. As a result, Taş announced that he was leaving his spokesman's post and his post on the group's executive committee. The House of Representatives' Legal Committee lifted Taş's immunity in August 2019. In October 2019, a penalty order in the amount of 5600 euros (70 daily rates of 80 euros) was issued against Taş.
