Glenn Medeiros

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Glenn Medeiros (born June 24, 1970 in Hawaii ) is an American singer of Portuguese origin.

life and career

Medeiros recorded his first studio album , named after himself, in 1987 . Then were mainly ballads in the style of the software pops to find, in particular as a single decoupled Nothing's Gonna Change My Love for You . In his American homeland, this song reached number twelve in the single hit parade . Medeiros was more successful in Europe; the single was number one in the UK for four weeks and received a gold record for it . The single also reached number one in France and the Netherlands and number two in Sweden and Norway. The follow-up single Lonely Won't Leave Me Alone made it to number 13 in the charts in France.

In 1988 Glenn Medeiros landed another hit with the first release from his second album Not Me . Long and Lasting Love placed in both the UK and American charts and landed at number 14 in the Netherlands. With the French singer Elsa he recorded the duet Un roman d'amitié , which was also published in English under the title Friend You Give Me a Reason . The song became a number one hit in France in 1988 .

As a result, Medeiros changed his musical style and oriented himself more towards R&B . In 1990 he played again an album called Glenn Medeiros , in which Ray Parker Jr. and Bobby Brown participated. Together with Brown he released the single She Ain't Worth It , which made it to number one on the US charts and was awarded a gold record. The second single All I'm Missing Is You was also a hit in the US. However, there were no further successes.

In 1992 Medeiros recorded the single Standing Alone together with Thomas Anders , which reached number 72 in the German charts . His fourth studio album in 1993, It's Alright to Love , was only released in Europe and Asia and was a commercial flop. The single Everybody Needs Somebody to Love just like the album could not place in the charts. Glenn Medeiros' further comeback attempts were unsuccessful and he then withdrew from the professional music business. He graduated from the University of Southern California and earned a doctorate in education. He became a teacher and has been the headmaster of the Saint Louis School in Honolulu since 2015 .

The singer married in 1996 and became a father in 2000 and 2001.
