The Jets is an American family band made up of the Wolfgramm siblings. Her music style is based in the areas of pop , R&B , gospel and, above all, Latin freestyle .

Originally founded in 1985, some members left the band in 1990, but several members of the band's family remained.

Various record companies released unreleased songs by the band with permission, which stem from their successful days, because the band in their current line-up usually appears without the majority of the original members.

history

The band was formed by the oldest eight children in the Wolfgramm family, who have seventeen children in total. Fifteen children of the family are birth and two (Eddie and Eugene Wolfgramm), who are from Tonga , have been adopted. In addition, the Wolfgramm family is of German, British and Tongan descent. The Wolfgramm family denomination is Latter-day Saint Church of Jesus Christ .

In the 1980s, The Jets were represented with ten songs on the Billboard Hot 100 , they achieved particular fame in the United States with the songs Crush on You and You Got It All . For the song Rocket 2 U they received a nomination at the Grammy Awards 1989 in the category: Best performance by a duo or a group with singing - Pop (Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals) .

Also signed to MCA Records a year earlier , Eugene Wolfgramm (under the pseudonym Gene Hunt) and Joe Pasquale formed the Boys Club duo, which ranked 8th on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States in 1989 with the song I Remember Holding You had a success.

For the compilation album, Eugene came back to the Jets, but Eddie, Elizabeth and Kathi Wolfgramm were dropped. The Jets sang the theme songs for The Disney Afternoon and Chip and Chap for the Walt Disney Company . Other soundtrack works by the band include Cross My Broken Heart (for Beverly Hills Cop II ), Under Any Moon (for Karate Kid III ) and La La Means I Love You (for Family Man ).

In the 1990s, the existing members turned to religious music, giving importance to their denomination. Although the entire family rarely performs together, some members are still busy with their solo careers.

The Jets sang the Star-Spangled Banner at the 1987 World Series and also performed at the 1988 Summer Olympics and the 2002 Winter Olympics .
