Ixi (born November 4, 1962 in Elmshorn ; actually Gaby Christensen, née Tiedemann ) is a German singer. In 1983 she had a hit with the single Der Knutschfleck at the height of Neue Deutsche Welle .

Life

At the age of eight, Tiedemann began taking music and singing lessons at the behest of her parents. Her career as a singer began when she met two producers at a party in late 1981. Together with Felix Kautsky, a demo tape entitled Detlev was created . Balthasar Schramm - then a law student and later head of Sony - went to Metronome with it without Ixi's knowledge . Their product manager was thrilled because they were looking for a birthday present for their boss, Detlev. The text was intended as a humorous and cheeky “upside-down world”. However, the single was not included in the program by the German broadcasters because of the chorus line " Detlev , I ask you, go on the line for me", but presented in Bravo and did not sell badly. Because of the radio boycott, another promo single was produced in which "dash" was drowned out with a beep.

With the follow-up single Der Knutschfleck , Ixi achieved a great - and her only - commercial success. The song entered the German single charts in April 1983 and reached number 8 after four weeks. However, this was her only success. Further singles did not sell anymore.

After the success of Der Knutschfleck , the music show Formula One also broadcast the video on Detlev in 1983 , although the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation dropped out, which happened repeatedly, especially on this topic. (see homosexuality on TV )

Also in 1983 was the teen comedy Plem, Plem - Die Schule brennt, directed by Siggi Götz . In the clothes , Ixi played a kitchen helper in a psychiatric clinic at Thomas Ohrner's side . This flick was also unsuccessful.

In 1985, she returned to the screens as the host of Bravo TV for a year . She then worked for Radio Schleswig-Holstein as a radio presenter for nine years . She still performs as a singer with local bands every now and then.

Gaby Tiedemann has been married since 1989 and is the mother of three daughters.
