Windows , even The Windows or Windows , called himself a German - English pop - duo , in 1972 with the song How Do You Do? It took first place in the German charts .

biography

In early 1972 the Dutch duo Mouth & MacNeal had a great success with the song How Do You Do , the English version of which brought it to number 5 in Germany. For a cover version the duo “Die Windows” was formed, consisting of Jeanette McKinlay (born September 1, 1948 ) and Peter Petrel (born April 14, 1940 ), who actually came from the jazz field , but with his smoky voice “Mouth “(Or Willem Duyn ) was very similar.

The German version entered the German charts in February 1972 and reached number 1, which it held for 8 weeks. Interestingly, McKinlay & Petrel published another version, this time in English and under the name “Windows” (without the “Die” in front of it). While the back of the German single was called Any Day , it was now the title Nobody's Baby . However, no further success could be achieved with this.

After How Do You Do , “Windows” landed three more charts above the Top 40: Tell Me Baby (1972), Alright, Okay, I Love You (1973) and Do you have no other worries? (1974), after which Petrel devoted himself to other projects.

Together with the singer Tina Wulf, Petrel reformed Windows in the mid-2000s. The duo released several CDs and made various appearances.
