Willem Duyn
Willem Duyn (born March 31, 1937 in Haarlem , North Holland , † December 3, 2004 near Almelo ( Netherlands )) was a Dutch singer .
Life
Duyn began his career as a drummer in 1960. With his partner Sjoukje van't Spijker as Maggie MacNeal (born May 5, 1950) he had some great successes from 1971 as " Mouth " in the duo Mouth & MacNeal . The best known are How Do You Do? (1972), Hello-a (1972) and I See a Star (1974).
In 1974 Mouth & MacNeal reached third place with I See a Star at the Eurovision Song Contest . In the same year, the German original recording of the Dutch Eurovision contribution with the title: A gold star . Shortly thereafter, the duo split up. While Maggie MacNeal was now active as a soloist, Mouth and his new partner Ingrid Kup founded the duo " Big Mouth & Little Eve ". After the end of this project he devoted himself to his solo career and had his greatest success with the single Willem , which rose to number 5 in the Dutch charts in 1979 .
In the 1990s Duyn performed with various rock bands, but in recent years he has mainly been hired by cafes and bars.
Duyn lived in Emmen-Roswinkel , Province of Drenthe . He died of cardiac arrest on December 3, 2004.
