Maybe is a song by Thom Pace that was released as a single in May 1979 and was also released on the album of the same name that same year. It was Thom Pace's only number one hit in Germany , but it also reached the top ten in Austria and Switzerland .

Origin and content

The song was written by Thom Pace himself in 1974 and produced by Don Perry . The pop - ballad is played with the acoustic guitar and strings. The protagonist, who speaks of himself or other living beings in the plural, praises the beauty of life in the woods. However, this life is threatened, so he longs for a world in which he does not have to flee and can live in harmony.

The song was originally intended for the film When the Northwind Blows , but was used that same year as the medley Wear the Sun in Your Heart / Maybe in the film The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams . In 1977 it became the theme song of the associated television series. However, it was not successful until 1979 after the series was published as The Man in the Mountains in Europe, including in German-speaking countries. In the series, James "Grizzly" Adams is accused of a crime he did not commit and is hiding in the mountains.
