The Hot Banditoz are a German Latin pop - band consisting of the singers 2004-2008 Fernanda Brandão and Gabriela Gottschalk and singer Silva Gonzalez insisted. After the band split up in 2010, the founding members Gottschalk and Gonzalez started a comeback together with pop star candidate Diba Hakimi .
history
The group members were selected by the residents of the fifth season of the television show Big Brother . The group had their greatest success with their debut single Veo Veo , which entered the German charts from zero to number three in July 2004 . Veo Veo is actually an old Spanish children's song that often in the last 20 years as a children's entertainment ( " mini disco was played in the Spanish resort areas") and thus had already reached a fairly high level of awareness.
The second single Chucu Chucu (El Tren) was the continuation of Veo Veo , also a cover version of an old Spanish nursery rhyme that was already known from the children's entertainment programs in the relevant holiday areas. The single reached number 42.
The following album Mini Disco , released in autumn 2004, contained covers of most of the tracks that have been played very often in holiday animation programs for children in Spain in recent years, such as: B. Agadou , Levantando Las Manos or Happy Birthday (Clap Clap Song) . The album was not a great success and did not get past number 52 in the charts.
In the summer of 2005, the single Shake Your Balla was released , which is based on the hit song A Student from Uppsala by Kirsti Sparboe from 1969 . The CD reached number 5 in the German charts.
The album Bodyshaker , released in autumn 2005, reached number 42. It contained cover versions of old Latino hits and hits - including a dance version of the Xuxa hit Ilariê, which Las Chicas had already announced in the summer of the same year .
In early February 2006 a new single was released, a cover version of the Backstreet Boys classic I Want It That Way .
In July 2006 a new title was released called La Cucaracha Dance . In contrast to the rumors that surfaced on the Internet, this title has nothing to do with the Mexican folk song La Cucaracha , but rather an independent reggae - pop number at a fast pace, which only reached number 46 on the charts. In the summer of 2007 a single called Que Si, Que No , a cover version of Nunca te decides by El Simbolo from 1998 was released. The album Best of Holiday Club Hits , which was released in August 2007, represents - like the first album Mini Disco - one Another compilation of popular holiday club hits. However, most of the songs were simply taken over 1: 1 from this first album. In Yo Tengo is a cover of Spanish hits Yo Tengo Un Cochecito by Teresa Rabal; there is also a re-recorded version of El Tren on the album .
In 2008 Silva Gonzalez left the band for private reasons and was replaced by José Valdes . The last joint live performances took place in summer 2010.
In November 2011 a new line-up was announced. In addition to the founding members Gabriela Gottschalk and Silva Gonzalez, the pop star candidate Diba Hakimi became a new member of the Hot Banditoz. Together with the old production team, they worked on new song material. The first release of the new line-up was the single Life Is So Strong on Universal Music in January 2012 . The single Canta Mi Cancion followed in March 2012 . Simultaneously with Silva Gonzalez's participation in I am a star - get me out of here! the single Get Down on the Floor was released , a new edition of Ecuador by SASH! . At the end of April 2013, Gottschalk left the band after 9 years due to her pregnancy. In May 2013 a casting took place in which the Hamburg professional dancer Melanie Graml was found as a replacement. From June 2013 Diba Hakimi was replaced by Danika Wist in the live performances. On June 28, 2013, the song Aramsamsam , a cover of an old Moroccan folk song, appeared on Ballermann Hits 2013 and as a separate publication on the music streaming service Spotify .
Since Fernanda Brandão worked as an expert on the country and people for ARD in Brazil at the 2014 World Cup, the former Hot Banditoz singers Diba Hakimi, Gabriela Gottschalk, Melanie Graml and the Germany-seeking-the-superstar candidate Josefina Bucaj published as Hot Banditaz in July 2014 as a greeting on YouTube the song Oh Le Le 2014 , which is only sung by Diba Hakimi. The song Festa Para Um Rei Negro (Samba Reizado) (O Le Le) was released by the Hot Banditoz in June 2014 on the sampler Fetenhits FIFA World Cup 2014 , which also contains vocal passages by Silva Gonzalez.
From 2014 Silva Gonzalez, Danika Wist and Stefanie Schanzleh were part of the cast of the Hot Banditoz. The first single was the song Bouqinha da Garrafa . In June 2014 the Hot Banditoz were awarded the EMMAward as an honorary award for their 10th anniversary of the band.
In autumn 2017 it became known that Silva Gonzalez and Stefanie Schanzleh are a couple. They had their first child in February 2018. In March 2018 Danika Wist had to leave the Hot Banditoz due to a dispute and was initially replaced by the Hamburg ex- Banaroo band member Kathrin "Cat" Geißler at the upcoming performances . The band was then restructured. In a casting in Hamburg's Elbe shopping center, Melissa Smolka from Dresden and Franziska Wagner from Munich were won over as dancers for the project. While Silva Gonzalez and Stefanie Schanzleh will form the core of the band in the future, they will be supported during their performances by eight new, alternating dancers.
