Gabriela Gottschalk
Gabriela Gottschalk (born September 13, 1978 in La Paz , Bolivia ) is a German choreographer , dancer and singer who became known with the Latin pop trio Hot Banditoz .
biography
Gabriela Gottschalk was born in Bolivia as the daughter of a Bolivian social worker and press correspondent and a German engineer, but moved to Hamburg with her parents when she was young. She grew up in Hamburg-Rotherbaum and did her Abitur at the Jahnschule . She received ballet and jazz dance lessons at the age of nine and became a cheerleader for the cheerleader squad of the Hamburg Blue Devils American football team , the Hamburg Blue Angels , at the age of 14 . In 1997 she appeared as an AllStar cheerleader at the Orange Bowl , the finals of college football in Miami . From 1997 to 1999 she won the German and European championships in American cheerleading with the Hamburg Blue Angels and taught showmanship and acrobatics as a camp coach in cheerleader camps in Germany and the USA .
At the same time she started working as a dancer and choreographer for musical acts such as Outkast , Millane Fernandez , Mariah Carey , Kraftwerk , Enrique Iglesias , Seeed , Echt , Scooter , Blümchen and Tom Novy . At the age of 19 she got a record deal and played the girl warrior Sailor Moon from the famous manga series by the Japanese illustrator Naoko Takeuchi as a member of the pop band Super Moonies . The band released the German top 5 album Sailor Moons Welt and sold more than a million records. In 2000, Gottschalk taught lyrical jazz at the Millennium Dance Complex in Los Angeles and was a lecturer in modern dance, Latin jazz, lyrical and hip-hop at the Stage School in Hamburg and other institutions from 2001 to 2004 . From 2003 to 2004 she completed an apprenticeship as a community performance teacher at the Lola Rogge School in Hamburg in the subjects of direction , concept, lighting design, acting, dance and singing .
Hot banditoz
Gottschalk has been a member of the Latin pop combo Hot Banditoz since 2004. The band's debut single, Veo Veo , reached third place in the German single charts in the first week of its release in the summer of 2004 and received a gold record for over 150,000 units sold. In autumn 2004 the debut album Mini Disco was released . In the summer of 2005, the single Shake Your Balla was released and reached number five in the German charts. In autumn 2005 the second album Bodyshaker was released . In early 2006, the band released a cover version of the Backstreet Boys hit I Want It That Way . In July 2006, the single was released La Cucaracha Dance the song and in summer 2007 Que Si Que No . The third Hot Banditoz album Best of Holiday Club Hits was released in August 2007. Until 2010, the Brazilian dancer and singer Fernanda Brandão was a member of the band.
ChixxClique
In 2004 Gottschalk founded the female performance group ChixxClique. The group's first project was the experimental dance theater production Mind Dimension , based on Kant's critique of judgment , in collaboration with the University of Fine Arts, the University of Applied Sciences and the Studio Hamburg.
Charity
Gabriela Gottschalk has been involved in numerous social projects for a long time. At the age of 14 she was already leading a prevention project for the city of Hamburg as a hip-hop teacher, teaching Turkish girls. In 2004 she taught a youth theater group and accompanied them up to the performance at the Hamburg cultural festival altonale . She supports the child protection project Dunkelziffer and is an ambassador for the Bio-Brotbox initiative for Hamburg's first graders. Since 2003 she has also supported three children's aid projects in Bolivia together with her mother.
