Naoko Takeuchi

Naoko Takeuchi ( Japanese 武 内 直 子 Takeuchi Naoko ; born March 15, 1967 in Kofu ) is a Japanese mangaka that was best known for its manga Sailor Moon . Her manga served as a template for the internationally successful anime of the same name .

biography

Naoko Takeuchi was 1967 in Kofu in Yamanashi Prefecture born. She studied chemistry and pharmacy for several semesters at Kyoritsu Yakka Daigaku (Kyoritsu University for Pharmacy) and successfully completed this course with a thesis on the increased development of thrombosis due to ultrasound . She created her first manga in 1985 with the volume Yume ja nai no ne , which was later published in the short story volume Prism Time . With Miss Rain , Chocolate Christmas and The Cherry Project , other quite successful Shōjo manga followed.

She published the first volume of the successful series Sailor Moon in 1992, followed by 17 more volumes until 1997. The series is based on the series Sailor V , which was first published in 1991 , the main character of which later also played an important role in Sailor Moon .

Today she lives with her husband Yoshihiro Togashi , who is also a manga artist ( Hunter x Hunter , Yū Yū Hakusho ), her son and daughter in Tokyo .
