Las Chicas

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Las Chicas (also Las Chicas Internacional ) is a three-member girl group consisting of Jana Wall, Alicia Sanchez and Vanessa Harris from Munich .

Band history

She was cast by the record company EMI in the summer of 2005 when the idea came up to officially release the Xuxa hit "Ilarie", known from Spanish holiday clubs but not yet available in Germany. The original from Xuxa had already spread via file-sharing exchanges. The song was produced by Scooter member Ferris Bueller.

While the maxi-CD sold only moderately, the title spread very quickly via discos and on the Internet and was recorded on the sampler " Ballermann Hits 2005". The Latino dance pop hit made it into the charts in all German-speaking countries in July 2005. In Austria and Switzerland the single landed at number 50, only in Germany, where the version of the buttons released at the same time reached number 31, it was only enough for number 78. For Las Chicas it was the only chart hit, so the band got a clear one -Hit-Wonder was.
