The song reached number four on the US Billboard Hot 100 charts. In Switzerland, the Netherlands and Norway the song reached first place in the charts. Sheena Easton is the only artist to date to be seen singing the theme song in the opening credits of a Bond film.

The song was covered by Thomas Anders and Sollie Nero ( In Your Eyes ) , among others . The Manila- born Filipina Sollie Nero appeared with the song on November 9, 1981 in the ZDF hit parade , but could not place in the top three.
