Linda Feller
Linda Feller (born Uta Weitzel on September 23, 1966 in Ohrdruf ) is a German country and pop singer .
biography
Linda Feller completed an apprenticeship in customer service at the commercial school in Erfurt . She was discovered in 1985 by pop singer and entertainer Hartmut Schulze-Gerlach in his TV show Sprungbrett and promoted in the first years of her career.
She turned early country music to, interpreted the title Applejack by Dolly Parton on a production label Amiga and was from 1986 lead singer of the band Country & Co. in 1988 she returned to her performance at Country Festival in Kloten in the Switzerland did not return to the GDR and settled in Mainz . It was there that her first own album, Linda Feller , was released in 1990 . She has been singing German country and pop music since the early 1990s. In 2003 she performed at the country festival Stodola Michala Tučneho in Hoštice u Volyně in the Czech Republic .
She is married and lives with her husband in Dresden-Cossebaude. She has a daughter from a previous relationship.
Achievements and Awards
In 1992 Feller was the first female artist to be awarded the "Singer of the Year" award by the then newly founded German American Country Music Federation . She has now been awarded this honor seven times. In 1998 she received an invitation to perform at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville , where she appeared on September 11, 1998 as the first German artist with the Dolly Parton title Silver and Gold . The MDR produced a TV special around this event.
