Alan Woerner
Alan Woerner (born September 27, 1952 in Ostheim near Nidderau ; † September 25, 2011 in Mallorca ) was a German songwriter and band leader .
biography
At the age of 14 he discovered that he wrote his first love letters in the form of songs. His first self-produced album First Trial heard his school friend and star drummer Curt Cress and produced the first official Alan Woerner album Here come the doctors for Global Records in Munich .
CBS A&R Andreas Kirnberger brought Woerner together with the Berlin scene. This resulted in two albums for CBS / Sony. Produced by Udo Arndt : ... until something happens and one plus one . With his band Alan Woerner & the Doctors he played a. a. with Rio Reiser , Ulla Meinecke , Reinhold Heil ( Spliff ), Cosa Rosa , Peter Weihe , Ken Taylor and Hans J. Behrend von Ideal .
Woerner wrote more and more titles for and with Rio Reiser. The clay-stones-shards title Let's be a miracle became a hit.
This was followed by TV appearances and Alan Woerner played the supporting act for Chris de Burgh and Purple Schulz on their respective tours in Germany. With David Bowie keyboardist and co-producer Erdal Kizilcay, the last CBS single was created in Switzerland in 1988, Wenn Then Forever .
He then temporarily withdrew from the music business. Since 1999 Alan Woerner sang in the Rhine-Main area with various musicians in the cover band The Quinns .
revival
In 2004 he returned with a new album, but no longer with a major company, but with a new label and new employees, including Felix Beck on drums, who made a name for himself in collaboration with Gregg Bissonette . 109 was produced by Franz Plasa in his old home in Frankfurt and partly in his new one, Hamburg .
In 2010 he began work on his new album "Das Album", which he could no longer complete.
