The Shorts were a four-piece Dutch teenage group whose pop music was well known in Germany in the early 1980s .

Career

The group, founded in 1976 by manager and composer Eddy De Heer as a children's band, consisted of Hans Van Vondelen ( vocals ), Erik De Wildt ( keyboards ), Hans Stokkermans ( electric bass ) and Peter Wezenbeek ( drums ). The original name of the band was 'De Bliksemafleiders'.

Her biggest hit was Comment ça va , published in 1983 . The music and the original Dutch text came from Eddy de Heer, the German text version from Bernd Augener ; the producer was Jack Jersey . For this production Jersey got the "Conamus Export Award" in 1983. Number 1 in the Netherlands, the title in Germany stayed in the charts for eleven weeks from July to September 1983 , including three weeks at number 6.

With other titles, many of which were recorded in Dutch, 'The Shorts' could not repeat this success. In 1986 the group disbanded.
