Volker Haidt (born November 29, 1958 in Krauthausen (Düren) ; † February 9, 2017 ) was a German musician and radio host . Under his stage name Florian Haidt he had success as a pop singer in the early 1980s .

biography

At the age of 18, Haidt became a professional musician and acted as a singer and guitarist in various bands . His solo career began in 1982 as Florian Haidt. The first single , Red Roses, Red Lips, Red Wine , became his biggest hit. The original of the song was written by René Carol in 1952. Haidt's version entered the German single charts in January 1983 and reached number 42. This resulted in an invitation to the ZDF hit parade .

In the same year, Haidt released the single Kiddy Kiddy, Kiss Me , a cover version of the 1964 hit by Rita Pavone and Paul Anka as a member of The Raiders group . A few solo singles were released until 1984, none of which reached a chart position. Only the songs Zaubermelodie , Ich want, if I knew that I may , which is a cover version of Nik Kershaw's hit I Won't Let the Sun Go Down on Me , and champagne or seltzer could qualify for the ZDF hit parade .

Haidt has worked as a radio presenter since 1983, first at Radio Luxemburg and then at Welle Nord in Kiel. From there he moved to RSH and moderated there until 1992 under his real name. For the Kiel radio station he presented a. a. 1991 and 1992 the RSH gold award. From 1993 he was involved in the development of the radio station delta radio and worked for the Saarland radio and radio SAW until he decided in mid-1996 for Radio SAW in Saxony-Anhalt . There he moderated the morning show Muckefuck together with Klaus Vorbrodt , later with Holger Tapper and others. He died on February 9, 2017 after a brief period of serious cancer.

In 2003, Volker Haidt and Holger Tapper were awarded the RADIOJournal Broadcasting Prize in the “Double Moderation ” category. In 2011 he received the German Radio Prize in the category of best presenter for the way he moderated the radio SAW Muckefuck program .
