delta radio is a private radio station based in Kiel .
history
Delta radio was started as the second private radio station in Schleswig-Holstein under the name Alpha Radio , but had to change its name just a few months after it started broadcasting, as it was registered as a trademark by a company belonging to the Kirch Group .
Together with Radio Schleswig-Holstein and Radio Bob , delta radio now broadcasts from the Kiel Radio Center, the former Wittland radio station.
Shareholder
Frank Otto has a 58.89 percent stake in delta radio , Regiocast directly and indirectly via Ditting Media with a total of 24.99 percent and radio ffn with 16.12 percent.

format
Delta radio plays a more rock-heavy music program that has shifted more towards the mainstream since the slogan delta radio - The best rock-pop of today (1998-2001) was changed to sounds different . It is aimed at the target group of 14 to 35 year olds.
Club van Cleef
From the 1st to the 3rd quarter of 2006 the Hamburg music label Grand Hotel van Cleef had its own program Club van Cleef on delta radio . It was moderated by Simon Raß (Grand Hotel van Cleef) and Reimer Bustorf (Kettcar) and advertised as the first radio broadcast by a record label in Germany. After that, the slots were taken by the King Kong Klub, a weekly indie show.
Concerts
Delta radio is an advertising partner of many rock and pop concerts, the Hurricane Festival in Scheeßel and the John Lennon Talent Awards .
automation
Parts of the program are automated. In the evening and at night, usually from 8 p.m., the traffic service is composed of previously recorded language modules . The news and the weather (only in the evening) from Regiocast Radioservices are also played in via the automation, but are currently recorded and edited shortly before the broadcast. In the evening and at night, all service elements for delta radio, Radio BoB and R.SH are the same for cost reasons and are only highlighted with the different sound design .
Facetalk
On Sunday evenings the talk show Facetalk can be heard on delta radio between 9 p.m. and midnight , which is taken over by the Berlin radio station Kiss FM . It will also be broadcast on Energy Sachsen . Facetalk has been on delta radio since the program started in mid- 2013 . The call-in program was canceled at the end of 2016 .

Delta Radio broadcasts a two-minute news overview at both a quarter to an hour and a quarter past the daytime. This is produced by the service provider Regiocast Radioservices or its Newscloud division . Regiocast Radioservices emerged from the originally independent newsrooms of the Schleswig-Holstein private broadcasters and, like this one, is based in the Kiel Radio Center . A number of other German radio stations are also supplied with Newscloud, such as Antenne MV , Klassik Radio or Sunshine Live .

The delta radio program can be received terrestrially via VHF in Schleswig-Holstein , Hamburg , West Mecklenburg , in north-eastern Lower Saxony and in southern Denmark . You can also listen to the station via the cable network and via the Internet via live stream.
