Henner Hoier (born April 19, 1945 in Adendorf ) is a German composer, singer and guitarist. In 1998 the Rolling Stones dedicated six pages to him in their book under Henner Hoier & The Rivets .

biography

Hoier began his career in 1964 at the Star Club in Hamburg as lead singer and guitarist for the group Rivets. For four years he sang and played with this group and designed the opening programs for famous tours by Jimi Hendrix , The Who or The Rolling Stones , including in Europe. In 1968 he joined the Rattles and toured Europe with them. Hoier was the lead singer on the Rattles track The Witch , which first appeared as the b-side of the single Geraldine in 1969 . He remained the singer of the Rattles until early 1970, when he became a member of the Les Humphries Singers . In 1971 he started his own business as a singer.

Solo career

In 1970 his version of the Rattles hit "The Witch" with the reverse "Geraldine" appeared, also a Rattles piece. Both are German-language versions (Telefunken U 56 122). "Annabella" followed (originally by Soulful Dynamics). The German version of the hit Beautiful Sunday reached first place on the ZDF hit parade .

Several appearances on ARD and ZDF in Germany, SRF Switzerland, ORF Austria and NOS Netherlands made him known. His titles were also sold in French and English. He made his US debut in Washington DC, and in 1976 he made an appearance in New York.

Composer and producer

Hoier composed and produced for "Die Galaktischen 2", Jürgen Drews , Rattles , The Lords , Wencke Myhre , Hans Hartz and the Kastelruther Spatzen . In 1988 Achim Reichel re- formed the legendary Rattles, with whom Henner Hoier toured successfully through Germany and Europe until 1993. Since 1994 Hoier has appeared again with the re-formation of the Rivets and also as a soloist.

From September 1996, Henner Hoier played the leading role in 250 sold-out events in the musical Only You in Hamburg , in the New Theater am Holstenwall, and went on tour successfully through Germany, Austria and Switzerland in November and December 1997. With the musical Only You , Hoier toured successfully through Germany, Austria and Switzerland in January and February 1999, with over 340 sold out events. This resulted in the LP-CD Only You - "private collection" .

The next Only You tour started in November to the end of December 1999. From January 2000 this rock tour could be seen again in the Neues Theater am Holstenwall in Hamburg. This was followed by an Only You tour 2001 - 2002. From September 2003, Henner Hoier played in the Theater am Holstenwall in the new musical Only You II Luna Hotel , with which he went on tour in autumn. Hoier then worked on a new musical concept and its stage implementation for 2004. From 2005 to 2006 Hoier was on tour with Only You II Luna Hotel in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

In 2007 Henner Hoier performed as the lead singer and musical director of the Original Singers together with some former members of the Les Humphries Singers in the Schaubude on NDR III and Die Nacht des Deutschen Schlagers in Bad Segeberg . Since 2008, Hoier has been working on a musical concept for further productions in the sound of the Les Humphries Singers. This also includes the work started together with Holger Bünning on a musical based on the great hits of the Les Humphries Singers.
