Hohe Berge is the title of a song by the German singer Frl. Menke that was released in 1982 .

History of origin

The Neue Deutsche Welle reached its first commercial peak in 1981. That year, Franziska Menke, as her real name was, stayed in her father's recording studio . Father and music producer Joe Menke ran a small recording studio with 16-track technology in the basement of the family apartment ( Studio Maschen in Seevetal ; owner today: Alexander Menke). Franziska first began to play the intro on the guitar experimentally , initially an English working title and text was created. Harald "Harry" Gutowski , bassist with Joachim Witt ( Goldener Reiter ), inspired her to write a German text. Franziska began, together with Gutowski, to compile and comment on some terms associated with mountains and mountaineering ( chairlift , mountain station , edelweiss , La Montanara , Luis Trenker ). Franziska Menke wrote the music and wrote the lyrics together with Harald Gutowski. Franziska's voice was finally overdubbed over the music track in the recording studio . In a similar way three more songs were created, which were put together by Polydor for the EP Hohe Berge , all published by her father's music publisher (Edition Joe Menke) .
