Nella Martinetti
Nella Martinetti (born January 21, 1946 in Brissago ; † July 29, 2011 in Männedorf ) was a Swiss singer , composer , lyricist of popular hits and actress from the canton of Ticino .
Life
Martinetti sang in a duo with her brother as a child and played guitar and accordion . After school she attended the teachers' college and became a kindergarten teacher. At that time she produced children's programs for television in Ticino and also appeared as a singer. Lotar Olias discovered her and produced some hits with her. Then she turned to folk music.
She applied for the Grand Prix of Folk Music in 1986 and won with the song Bella Musica composed by herself . Other titles followed, most of which she wrote herself. She also wrote for other artists. She wrote the lyrics of two songs by composer Atilla Şereftuğ for the Eurovision Song Contests . Daniela Simmons achieved second place for Switzerland at the 1986 Eurovision Song Contest in Bergen with her song Pas pour moi . Celine Dion won the Eurovision Song Contest 1988 in Dublin for Switzerland with the song Ne partez pas sans moi .
Nella Martinetti has occasionally been seen in popular galas and television events, although her appearances have become less frequent due to health problems ( fibromyalgia ) and her private life tends to fill the gossip columns of the rainbow press. This she willingly reveals intimate details from her private life on several occasions. She also appeared in the soap Lüthi and Blanc as well as in the movie Mein Name ist Eugen . Nella Martinetti lived in Jona .
In September 2009, it was announced that she had pancreatic cancer . She died on July 29, 2011 at the age of 65. She was buried in Brissago on August 9, 2011. It was only after her death that it became known that Martinetti and her long-time friend Marianne Schneebeli had registered their partnership in 2009.
