Life

Andrea Horn grew up in Vienna and took piano lessons during her school days. She sang in the school choir and participated in the school radio on Austrian radio , in German and English programs.

After graduating from high school, she sang background vocals for the record company Polydor , including singles by Peter Kraus and Ted Herold . This was followed by recordings with the girls' trio Die Glorias . Her partners included Helga Schramm, Inge Buchner and Susanne Adorjan. She achieved her greatest success as a duo with Trixie Kühn under the name Honey Twins . The singles Charlie Brown (# 17), … nur ein Küsschen (# 37) and Banjo Boy (# 32) reached the top 50 of the German single charts. As a soloist she has appeared on singles with Austrophon, Mastertone and Elite Records under the name Hedi Prien, and occasionally as Hedy Prien.

In 1959 he toured Germany with the Max Greger Orchestra . In December 1959 she met Lokstedt at the NDR Wyn Hoop's television studio , and moved to Hamburg in 1960. In the same year, the Honey Twins had a short appearance in the film My treasure come with me to the blue sea with Joachim Fuchsberger and Harald Juhnke .

In June 1961, Andrea Horn married Wyn Hoop. The two met in 1959 while making TV recordings for the NDR in Hamburg-Lokstedt . Horn worked in Hamburg as a background singer for television and in various recording studios, recording James Last's party records and for Freddy Quinn. As a soloist she was under contract with Philips and appeared in TV shows at RIAS Berlin, NDR, WDR, and SWF Baden-Baden. In 1966 she took part in a six-week tour from Greece to Japan with Wyn Hoop and the Südwestfunktanzorchester under Rolf-Hans Müller - sent by the Foreign Office to represent Germany. A tour through Mexico and a guest appearance at the world exhibition in Osaka followed.

In Teldec first joint LP appeared with Wyn Hoop, under the name Wyn & Andrea, with international folklore. Further LPs followed, including Ariola. As a duo and solo, there were appearances on television (Studio B, Hitparade, Drei mal Neun with Wim Toelke) and at various radio stations until 1978.

In 1978 the couple ended their musical career after the success failed. Instead, the two of them devoted themselves to their favorite pastime, sailing. Several “Nautical Travel Guides” were created for the Hamburg publisher Edition Maritim , some in the fifth edition and now also as eBooks . She lives in Hamburg with her husband.
