Creation and publication
Boys in Love is a pop song that is instrumented with numerous winds. It was written by Purple Schulz, Josef Piek and Dieter Hoff and produced by Tato Gomez . The lyrics list things in a somewhat exaggerated way that boys in love do to impress women “who like to put up with it” or to win them over. Some things also go wrong in the process, for example they walk “in front of lanterns, but they get up again”. A medley of many love songs or songs with lyrics that contain "Love" was integrated into the bridge of the song . These include:
- The Beatles - All You Need Is Love / She Loves You / All My Loving
- Robert Knight - Everlasting Love
- Purple Schulz - Only with you
- Howard Jones - What Is Love?
- The Supremes ( Phil Collins ) - You Can't Hurry Love
- John Paul Young - Love Is in the Air
- Public Image Limited - This Is Not a Love Song
- The Supremes - Stop! In the Name of Love
- Percy Sledge - When a Man Loves a Woman
- The Rubettes - Sugar Baby Love
In the summer of 1985 the single was released by EMI . The B-side contains the title Schöne Zeit . There was also a 12 "-maxi with a 5:52 minute version, the Bisüberbeideohrenverliebte maxi version , on the B-side is also Schöne Zeit .
