Around My Heart is a 1988 pop song written by Sandra .
Creation and publication
The song was written by Hubert Kemmler alias Hubert Kah, Markus Löhr and Klaus Hirschburger , the latter band members of Hubert Kah, as well as by Sör Otto's and Sandra's keyboardist Frank Peterson and produced by Michael Cretu . Around My Heart is a mid-tempo synth pop song. In the lyrics, the protagonist remembers the beginning of a relationship with a “criminal” man that began in the summer of 1985, a “dangerous game”.
The single was released on May 1, 1989 on Virgin Records as the fourth and final regular single from the album Into a Secret Land . On the B-side is the song Around My Drums (Instrumental) . There is also a 6:02 minute maxi version, which is supplemented by the 7 "version on the maxi single. Around My Heart appeared on several compilations and best-of albums, including The Superhits of the Year from the ZDF hit parade 1989 .
Sandra appeared with the song on ZDF on April 22nd, 1989 at Nase vor with Frank Elstner , as well as on June 17 of that year at Die Pyramide with Dieter Thomas Heck . In addition, it was seen on June 14, 1989 in the ZDF hit parade , as number two of the titles determined by Media Control . She also offered the title in the WWF Club .
The music video was directed by Bulle Bernd.
Chart placements
The single reached number 11 in Germany , number 23 in Austria and number 19 in Switzerland . In France , the song came in at number 28.
