Paintings in Yellow is the fourth studio album by the German - French pop singer Sandra . It was released on March 26, 1990 on Virgin Records .
Creation and publication
The album was produced by Sandra's husband Michael Cretu . It was recorded at ART Studios on the Spanish Mediterranean island of Ibiza . The music was written by Cretu with Frank Peterson , the lyrics are by Peterson, Cretu and Klaus Hirschburger . Tom Leonardt played the guitar.
The successful single Hiroshima , a cover by Wishful Thinking , was released in advance . After the album was released, two more singles followed in 1990, (Life May Be) A Big Insanity and One More Night . Johnny Wanna Live was released as a single in 1992 to promote the compilation 18 Greatest Hits .

Charts
The album reached number four in Germany and was in the charts for 22 weeks, in Switzerland it reached number eight, in Austria it came in at number 14 and in Sweden at number 30.
