Fading Shades is the sixth studio album by the German - French pop singer Sandra . It was released on June 12, 1995 on Virgin Records .
Creation and publication
The album was first produced by Sandra's husband Michael Cretu together with Jens Gad and recorded in the ART Studios on the Spanish Mediterranean island of Ibiza . Gad also wrote most of the music, Cretu was only involved in the music on I Need Love '95 , the remix of a track from the previous album Close to Seven, and on First Lullaby ; he wrote the latter together with Gad. Most of the texts come from Klaus Hirschburger , Cretu co-wrote four and Gad three.
The single Nights in White Satin , a cover of The Moody Blues , was released in advance . The single made it into the charts at number 86 in Germany and number 34 in New Zealand . It was followed by Won't Run Away as a second release, but it was not a chart success.
reception
The album reached number 42 in Germany and was in the charts for nine weeks, in Switzerland it reached number 37. The album thus lagged behind all previous ones and represents the singer's studio album with the worst place in the charts.
