Loreen is a 1986 pop song written by Sandra .
Creation and publication
The synth-pop - ballad was created by Frank Peterson , Michael Cretu and Klaus Hirschburger written, the latter band member of Hubert Kah and Cretu together with Armand Volker produced. The lyrics are about a girl named Loreen who is about to "lose her way" and on a walk on Sunday morning wondering if she could ever be the same again.
The single was released on November 24, 1986 on Virgin Records as the third single from the album Mirrors . On the B-side is the song Don't Cry (The Breakup of the World) . Loreen appeared on several compilations , including 2009 on the Platinum Collection .
On December 6, 1986, Sandra performed the song at Peter's Pop Show in front of an international audience. Number five, the robot from number five lives , was given a bouquet of flowers to the singer.
Music video
The music video, which was directed by Kai von Kotze , shows the performer and the original line-up, consisting of Steve Hall alias Peter Ries (bass), Wolfgang Filz (drums) and Frank Peterson (keyboards), all in black with three cellists on a classic set, decorated with chandeliers, among other things.
Chart placements
The single reached chart positions with number 23 in Germany and number 29 in Switzerland . In Germany it also reached number 18 on Media Control's airplay charts .
