Amur and Timur ( Russian Амур и Тимур) are a tiger and a billy goat who became famous for living together in an enclosure at a zoo near Vladivostok .

history

At the end of 2015 the male goat Timur was supposed to be thrown to the Siberian tiger Amur to eat. Instead of being eaten, Timur developed a relationship with Amur with his confident behavior. Both ate, slept and played together in the following time. As a result of this unusual behavior, they met with great media interest , especially in Russia . In 2016, after Timur's previous attacks, the tiger finally attacked the billy goat, who fell from a cliff and was seriously injured. Timur received first aid and was flown to Moscow by plane and treated there. After his solemn return to the zoo, after two months, Timur came into an extra enclosure with his new goat partner, Mrs. Merkel. Amur got a tiger partner named Ussuri. Timur died on November 5, 2019 at the age of 5. His ashes will be buried in the zoo and a bronze statue will be erected for him.
