Maxi & Chris Garden

Maxi & Chris Garden , actually Meike (born June 29, 1974 in Hanau ) and Chris (born December 29, 1950 in Zellhausen ) Gärtner, were a German singing duo that consisted of mother and daughter.

Career

The duo first attracted attention in 1987 when they came second in the German preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest with the song Peace for the Teddybears . In 1988 they won the German preliminary round and represented Germany with the song for a friend produced by Ralph Siegel at the Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin in 1988 , where they came in 14th. Several international and national television appearances followed.

In 2002 it was Meike Garden who musically came to the fore again. After graduating from high school and completing training as an art and wall painter, she studied art and music education for two years at the Berlin University of the Arts . She received her diploma in musicals and shows (singing, acting and dance).

After completing her studies, she was successful as a musical performer in various productions in Germany and Austria, for example in the Rainhard Fendrich musical " Wake Up " ( Vereinigte Bühnen Wien ). In collaboration with the Berlin formation Die Damenkapelle , she also demonstrated her comedic talent in the 1920s revue “Caution: Female!” . She achieved a top ten chart placement in Austria as a member of the Cinderella trio with the German rock-pop song Ich kann dich hheilung .

At the moment Meike Garden is mainly on the road as a solo artist with chansons, musicals and her own songs in Germany. She works as a teacher at a musical school in Mainz and at the Rodgau music school.
