Inker and Hamilton was in Munich Canada based pop - duo , consisting of the British Dave Inker (* 3. May 1953 in Bristol ) and the New Zealander Hilary Hamilton (* 4. August 1952 in Wellington ). With Dancing into Danger , the two musicians had a top 20 hit in Germany in early 1988 .
biography
Before Dave Inker came to Munich from Bristol in 1974, he was a guitarist and singer in various regional bands and studied aerospace engineering . From 1975 to 1977 he worked with the Bavarian blues interpreter Willy Michl . In 1976 the Briton released a solo album . Hilary Hamilton left her New Zealand homeland in 1974. B. with washing dishes and picking olives and came to Munich in 1979. It was there in the same year that they began their joint career, which lasted around 15 years.
Inker & Hamilton released their first album Highs and Lows in 1979 . The following long players , Person to Person (1981) and Double Feature (1983), were published by Sony Music . When their fourth album, The Mind and the Body , was released by Metronome in 1984 , the two had just completed a successful European tour supporting Chris de Burgh and were welcome guests on radio and television.
Four years later Inker & Hamilton had their greatest success with the album Dancing into Danger , which was released on WEA Records . Michael Cretu could be won as a producer . The title track Dancing into Danger , written by Hubert Kah , stayed in the German single charts for 15 weeks and reached number 19. In 1994 the song was covered by Maggie Reilly under the name Every Single Heartbeat .
The album Poetry in Motion was released in 1994 and was a kind of synthesis between their previous albums and the successful collaboration with Cretu. After a few single releases, Inker & Hamilton became quiet. The separation followed in 1998.
Hamilton now runs an agency for association management in the medical field and lives with her family in Munich. Inker had a recording studio in Upper Bavaria for a long time and now works successfully as a web designer .
