Michael Stein (born August 7, 1956 in Wolfen ), actually Ekkehard Hessler , is a German pop singer .

Life

Born in Wolfen, Bitterfeld district, Stein came to West Germany as a child. He grew up and went to school in Ihringen and Breisach . At the age of 7 he learned to play the accordion . In school he played in a school band. In the early 1970s he had his first successes as a singer with various dance bands (including The Silver Stars ).

The Bundeswehr brought him to Essen . Then he did an administration course. Until today (2010) he works as a civil servant for the city of Essen. In 1984 his first single was released as a pop singer The sun no longer shines for me , which immediately made him known nationwide. In December it was ranked 3rd on the ZDF hit parade . Other singles followed that were similarly successful. He was a guest on the ZDF hit parade and other music shows on television. His only album to date was released in 1987 and sold 120,000 times. The repertoire included romantic hits. More singles appeared until 1992, then things got a little quieter around him.

In 1997 he continued his singing career, but could no longer build on his old successes, so that after four singles (1999) he stopped his vocal activities on record. In November 2004 he appeared on stage again after many years as part of the celebrations for 25 years of Essen City Hall . In the same year his single Come, don't go over , followed in 2010 by the radio single Our song on the radio .

In 2014 Michael Stein published the title Forever We. Bernd Opinion was the songwriter who was able to assert himself in various hit parades and airplay charts. After the single Mein Herz in 2016 and Da ist ein Stern 2018, he drew attention to himself in the same year with his new album, Make life out of dreams again . The album also includes new recordings of his hits Sandy Goodbye , Adios Marlena and The sun doesn't shine for me anymore . Thanks to the collaboration with DA Music, Michael Stein is now also represented digitally and can also be found on Spotify and Amazon Music, among others.
