Ulli Martin
Ulli Martin , bourgeois: Hans Ulrich Wiese (born July 19, 1946 in Osnabrück ) is a German pop singer .
Life
Hans-Ulrich Wiese began his career in the 1960s as a singer in a beat group (The Bats, later renamed The Mad Bats). For his mother he had sung a few songs about a band that by chance fell into the hands of the music producer Leo Leandros . He recognized the potential of the young singer and produced several singles with him, but they went unnoticed. In the summer of 1971 the single Monika landed at number 2 on the German hit parade. This title was based on the patriotic Bulgarian hit Moja strana, moja Bulgaria by Emil Dimitrov . Also with the following two singles I dream of you with open eyes and you don't have to cry , he was successful. Leo Leandros quickly lost interest in him again because he concentrated on the careers of his daughter Vicky Leandros and that of the up-and-coming Demis Roussos . Accordingly, Ulli Martin was provided with average songs that only sold moderately. Until 1974 he had more hits with A lonely heart, that needs love , I love you , you are the most beautiful girl and Mariann, Mariann before he disappeared into oblivion. Various comeback attempts followed until the early 1980s, but they failed.
