Seven barrels of wine is a song by the German singer Roland Kaiser from 1977 to a text by Norman Ascot and René Marcard . The song was produced by Thomas Meisel .

Publication and content

Seven barrels of wine was first published in July 1977 on Kaiser's second studio album , I'm sorry for not an hour . In Germany, the song placed 7th and stayed in the charts for a total of 22 weeks.

Originally the song was written for Rex Gildo . After Rex Gildo failed to show up in the studio for recording, Kaiser was asked to sing the song as a demo. It was published without prior notice.

The song is about a bachelorette party where seven barrels of wine are drunk. The man who is about to get married regrets that he will soon no longer be a free man. Too often he becomes weak at the sight of beautiful women, which he perceives as dangerous for himself. He turns up a day late for his own wedding.
