Love me one last time is a song by the German singer Roland Kaiser from 1981. It is the successor single to Santa Maria and also his second-highest single release in the German charts.
Origin and text
The song was written by Roland Kaiser, Norbert Hammerschmidt , Bernd Dietrich , Gerd Grabowski and Siegfried Michalsky and produced by Thomas Meisel . In the lyrics of the ballad , the protagonist asks the loved one to “feel them again” before the imminent farewell. He is also remorseful and confesses to having made mistakes.
Publication and reception
Lieb 'mich one last time was released as a single in February 1981 and was then released in July 1981 on Kaiser's fourth studio album Dich zu liebe . The song also appeared on numerous compilations . In 2004, 2010, 2012 and 2017 Kaiser also released new versions of the song, which in turn can be found on a number of compilations.
In the ZDF hit parade Kaiser appeared three times with the song in 1981 . He sang it for the first time on May 11, 1981 as a new performance. On June 15, 1981 (third place) and July 13, 1981 (first place) he was allowed to recite it. Kaiser could also be seen with the title on other television appearances, for example on NDR . In the super hit parade 10 years Ein Herz für Kinder '87 on February 7, 1987, he sang it again. It's also a song that Kaiser plays a lot live, for example in Dresden 2011.
In Germany, the song placed third in the single charts and stayed there for a total of 33 weeks. At the end of the year, the single occupied position seven in the German single annual charts . The single became Kaiser’s third Top 10 success after Sieben Fäßel Wein and Santa Maria and the sixth chart hit in Germany. As an author, this was the sixth time he reached the German single charts and the top 10 for the second time after Santa Maria .
In 1981 Roland Kaiser won the Silver Lion from Radio Luxemburg with the piece .
